MiniMaxx V1&V2 tuner Wholesale & Dropshipping GO
What’S up guys today we have a 2020 67 power sh in the shop and I’m going to be showing you how to do a DPF and EGR Delete on it. This should be the same for 2020, 2021 and 2022 power strokes, but before you delete your truck, make sure you know your local laws and stay in accordance with them. If this is illegal, where you live, I don’t recommend doing it. So the kit we’re going to be using is from the diesel dudes I’ll, put a link down in the description. If the link looks a little funny it’s just because it is an affiliate link.
If you buy something through it, I do make a small percentage and that’s just how I afford to live. So this is the kit right here you have the option of doing just delete pipes which just replace the DPF or you can go for a full 5-in exhaust, which is what this is. This is the EGR delete kit right here. This bag contains the command or tuner and all the parts for that, and then this is optional, but I do recommend getting it. This is a shiby plug kit.
Basically, all the sensors you disconnect you can cap them with these uh dummy plugs just to keep water and corrosion out. I highly recommend purchasing this kit from the diesel dudes because they have worldwide shipping. They have good prices, they have really good customer support and they use quality Tunes. That’S the number one thing: a lot of these companies use cheap Tunes, uh diesel dudes uses Tunes from GDP, which is a really good reputable company up here in Canada, and they make awesome tunes plus I’m pretty familiar with how diesel dudes does stuff. So if you do have any issues, you can shoot me a message directly on Instagram at dark iron, Diesel and I’ll do my best to help you out so before you do the DPF and EGR Delete on this truck.
You must tune the truck first. I have a video I’ll put a link up here and a link down in the description to that video check out that video make sure your truck is tuned, make sure it runs it’s all good, and then you can come back to this video and then we Will delete the DPF and EGR on it? The tuning is a little bit different on a 2022 Power Stroke, so the video I did is for a 2020 to 2021. I don’t have a video yet for a 2022 when I do I’ll put that link down in the description, but the 2022 is a very similar process. Okay, so now the truck is tuned.
Remember you must tune it first, so we’re going to be working on the PF first, which is underneath the passenger side. Here I’m going to throw the truck up on my hoist. If you don’t have a hoist grab some of those ramps, they help a lot. Just put them underneath both passenger tires and just kind of drive the truck up on an angle like that, and it just gives you some more room to work under it. Okay, so we’re going to be getting rid of this unit.
What I usually do first, is I just grab some kind of pant train fluid and I spray these bolts there there and then uh, there’s ones up here, just so that they kind of come apart a little bit easier. Then, while that soaks in we’re going to go along and you’re going to unplug every sensor on the exhaust, so there’s a couple uh, you got one there and your def line we’re going to remove that this one here runs around to the passenger frame right here. A nox sensor you’re going to unplug that you can unbolt this right off the truck and pull it out with the exhaust. Looking towards the back of the truck going to unplug that guy just go along here’s another one here uh you can unplug that guy there just pull that little gray tab back. First, then you can pop it off another guy up.
There then, at the back of the truck over this rear, axle, you’ll see that white power line, and it actually goes along the frame rail, but this spare tire blocks it. So I usually grab the spare tire kit. I lower the spare tire and that’s how I unplug that one up there, so a lot of Clips will have little safety retainers on them or little locks. So if you kind of just use a little pick, you should be able to kind of pop them back for the heat shield over the def injector. Sometimes it’s easier to kind of cut it a little bit, so you can slide it off better and then it’s just going to have two tabs you’re going to pinch on each side and then pop it off.
So this nox sensor, that was on the outside of the frame rail, I popped it off and I unplugged it then there’s also this stupid thing up here. That’S in the top of the frame rail. I used a right angle, uphostery tool to kind of pop it off, and then you can feed this up over the frame. Rail just be patient with it. You got to get it right in the perfect spot up there to get it through, just lowering that spare tire now to access that back sensor and they should be all be unplugged, and here it is up here.
You can pop this cover off and then slide. This white tab back and then you can press it and unplug it and get rid of this whole cable. Okay. This is just hanging here. If you got this, uh shiy plug kit find the right cap and just cap off that sensor.
Before you put the spare tire back up okay, so we got all of our sensors unplugged. Just double check, make sure that you got everything disconnected and now we’re going to start at the back. We are going to unbolt these three nuts and we’re going to remove this pipe over the axle and then we’ll remove this little extension pipe after as well spray the exhaust hangers with another kind of pantra fluid or lubricant and uh, then we’re going to pry it Out so these are pretty handy. These are actually exhaust hanger pliers that uh help pop off those rubber hangers. You can also get under it with a pry bar and just kind of work it off that way.
Okay, we got these two pieces out. You can get this all out in one piece: it’s just really tight, but you have to lift up the back end either be on ramps or use a jack just to get a little more clearance. And then you can pull this pipe out in one piece now we just have one chunk left this big chunk, so we’re going to go up here. Don’T try to loosen these they’re welded, you can’t you have to go around to this side. Take these two bolts out and then we’re going to see this exhaust hanger right here, we’re going to unbolt it right there and there – and this is just going to come with the truck.
If we leave it on, there won’t be enough room for it to come out. So take those two nuts off and then yeah basically same thing. You’Re going to spray these down with WD40 and you’re, going to pry off the hangers and maybe get a friend to help you, but we’re going to drop this exhaust off the truck. Once you take these two bolts out, you’ll notice, it’s still kind of stuck together! So if you just grab a hammer there, it didn’t even take much but uh.
Now this pipe is actually free. You can see the Gap there. Okay and we got it out. I did have a friend come help me lower it down when I used to do these off the ground on ramps, I used to just use, put my knees underneath them and I’d lower them by myself, no problem. So what I’m going to do now is I’m going to take my shiby plug kit here and I’m just going to go along and I’m going to cap off all my sensors.
If you don’t have a plug kit, you can just tape them up or whatever you want to do, and then we’re going to zip tie them all out of the way. Okay, everything has plugs. It’S zip tied out of the way, don’t forget about this guy. On the frame rail, I guess I should put a quick, zip tie on that, but uh yeah we’re going to go ahead and we’re going to get the new exhaust out and start putting that on all right. So here’s the exhaust, I’m just going to kind of lay it out the way it goes.
This is Vinnie’s favorite part because he usually just rip RS up all the cardboard hey bud, so here’s the exhaust all laid out make sure you slide this piece over top of the front pipe. It goes 4 in to 5 in right here. So one of your clamps is going to be a 4in clamp and then the rest are going to be 5 in. If you got the 5 in exhaust this piece here, the one that’s beveled on both ends, that’s where your muffler will go, or if you got the straight pipe like this. That’S where the straight pipe piece is.
This piece is, if you have a long box, you’ll need that to fill it in this goes over the axle, and then this is your tail pipe. You should also come with some new B bolts. These bolts are going to be what you use to bolt the exhaust up to the down pipe, so putting the exhaust on will be fairly straight forward. I always start with the front pipe there. I put it on at the downpipe and then I just work my way to the back of the truck and then once it’s all done and hanging nicely.
I start the front and I start tightening all the clamps and I go all the way to the back. Um yeah, it’s pretty straightforward, so I’m going to go ahead and slap this new exhaust on all right, so we got the exhaust in this is tight working. Our way back, we got clamp, clamp, clamp, clamp all the way to the back uh. I did snug this first piece up a little bit um, because I was having a hard time, keeping everything lined up with that front piece loose and then uh. Another thing I will say is this truck: has a fifth wheel right there, so sometimes, if you’re getting the 5-in exhaust kit, sometimes they rub up here and you need to use a hammer just to kind of Dent it in a little bit, so it doesn’t hit It so this one was okay, but sometimes they do that.
I’M just letting you know um from past experiences, but yeah 5-in exhausts are way cooler, but they are a pain in the ass to get in sometimes so now. What I’d do is I’d start the truck and I’d go underneath it, and I would just check for any exhaust leaks on any of the clamps. If those are good, then we are done the exhaust. I will be doing a video on reviewing this kit like driving the truck after it’s done I’ll, put a link up here and a link in the description to that video. All right, I’m going to go underneath to check for leaks.
You can really hear that kind of Rumble tune. Okay, so the exhaust is done now we can move on to the EGR, but first a word from our sponsor and the sponsor is me: I started selling Merch. This is kind of one of the t-shirts. It’S got a big logo on the back. Here’S a couple designs: we have on the site right now, there’s some more too.
These are just what I happen to be wearing today. This one’s probably my favorite one, but I put a lot of time in effort into these videos to try to make them as straightforward as possible for you guys at home. So if the videos do help you out – and you feel like showing your support – go to dark Hardon diesel.com and get some merch, so you don’t have to delete the EGR. If you don’t want to, you can leave it on the truck I mean if you are able to, I recommend getting rid of it, but if you want to leave it on, that’s fine, you do need to unplug a few sensors, though so I’m going to go Through that right now, so the sensors that you need to unplug, regardless of if you’re doing the EGR Delete, is this one right here, you’re going to pop this guy off, there’s also this one right here: unplug, those zip tie them out of the way, and then You need to unplug the throttle valve, so this is your throttle valve and right there with the red tab that you’re going to pop back.
That is the sensor for the throttle valve. So we need to unplug that as well. So now we want to drain the coolant. I did put it on some ramps just because it’s really hard to get underneath there once we have enough coolant drained out of it, I’ll close it and I’m probably going to just start the truck really quick back it off just so, it’s easier to work on You’Re not going to hurt the truck by doing that as long as you’re, only letting it run for you know a few seconds. So these dumbass trucks have two coolant drains one on the passenger side right up there.
You can see it and you have to access it from the back and then, if we go over to the driver’s side there you can see the other one is right there. What you’re going to want to do is turn it 90 and then you’re going to turn it an additional 90 and pull out on it at the same time, and that should be all it is they don’t just thread in there, so don’t try to just unscrew It you don’t want to wreck it, I’m just kind of cleaning this side with some brake clean just because the coolant will run down the frame, and hopefully this just tracks a little bit less debris in the pail, pull the rad caps off to make a drain Faster just be careful if the truck’s hot here’s, the other one, while the RADS are draining we’re going to start removing some stuff so remove this air intake plastic pipe. First, now we’re going to remove this T fitting right here. Basically, we want to connect these hoses together, so we’re going to replace it with a brass fitting and this one we’re not going to use anymore. You should be able to just kind of get some side, Cutters or tin, snips and just kind of try to pry.
These stupid little Clips off these clamps we’re going to be using new hose clamps afterwards. Okay, I got these disconnected, but instead of just connecting these two I’m going to also remove this little chunk and then I’m just going to hook this directly up to there and then we don’t need any more fittings and any more possibilities of leaks. So here’s the kit we’re going to want to grab a hose clamp. These hose clamps will work they’re, just big. I have some smaller ones here, so I’m just going to use a smaller one.
Instead, okay and there we go, we got connected and we got rid of some connections, so there’s less chance of it leaking okay, my coolant is done draining, so I put the drain plugs back in and I’m just going to Super quickly start this truck back it Off the ramps and then shut it off, okay, so now this same hose, I’m going to take this hose, clamp off and pop this out, and I’m just going to fold this hose off to the side. I’M also removing this hose off here, just to get it out of our way. Okay, now we’re going to remove these two hot pipes, so I’m do that bolt! There’S two bolts down there: two there two there two there! Okay, I got these two pipes off you’re going to have to unplug this sensor.
You can put one of your caps on it there. If you have one this gasket here, we’re going to reuse it and the gasket down there, we’re also going to reuse so make sure you keep those grab. This blocker plate from the kit – and I realized this one – has an O-ring. So we actually won’t be reusing. The gasket here, but just make sure this o-ring, is in place and we’re going to put that on there and just use the factory Hardware.
Once you got this blocker plate on find this pipe that we just previously removed and we’re actually going to unscrew this sensor out of it now find this blocker plate in the kit, and I put it in a vise and then I tightened the sensor just cuz. It’S a little bit easier to tighten the sensor up when it’s out of the truck make sure you still have this gasket there and that it’s all clean and then we’re going to drop this guy down in there and we’re going to bolt that guy down with The factory Hardware, once you have it tightened down, you can actually plug it back in right there and we’ll move on to the next step pinch these tabs together and then pop off this coolant hose, and then we’re going to work on this harness so kind of Pop it off of the EGR cooler and then down here. If you see there are two bolts, one there and then one down a bit further on this black plastic thing, you’re going to undo those as well. Okay, this is loose down there uh I popped this hose off, so it’s loose. I also unplugged this connector and just folded it off to the side just to give us some more room, you going to unplug this little vacuum line and we’ll just kind of pull it off to the side for now and then, basically, we are going to try To remove this EGR cooler, so there’s a bunch of bolts, uh we’re going to have to remove them.
I don’t really know where they all are like there’s some kind of down there. If you see those guys, this guy is a bolt, you can see cuz. It goes all the way down through, so I’m basically going to get the bolts out and try to remove this thing and then I’ll show you all the bolts and where they’re located on the EGR Co cooler that back one back there there’s a bracket. So we’re going to have to pop that black thing off the stud, remove that nut flip, that metal bracket off to the right and then the bolts, underneath that some of these bolts are not very fun to get at so so far, I’ve gotten one back there. A bolt then there’s one kind of down here behind this coolant line.
I got that one out and then this guy right here I believe this one in the middle of the EGR cooler is also a bolt and then there’s going to be a few down on the bottom side. It looks like there’s just this guy here and then, if you look down there, there’s one and then back further, there’s another one back in there, so that one back in there looks like it’s going to be the only one. That’S a real big pain in the ass okay. I want to show you how I’m getting this back one. So I unplugged the far right ECM connector.
I have a/4 in extension, down there with a swivel socket and if you can kind of see, I’m just spinning it. I know you can’t really see it, but that is uh. That’S the play. If there’s a wheel, there’s a way and that’s how we’re getting that bolt out okay, so I have seven bolts. 1.2. 3. 4. 5. 6.
7. I’M going to very gently pry up off the alternator I this is probably don’t want to do this, but very gently. Okay. There we go look at that. The EGR cooler sits on dowels, so you might have to pry it up just a little bit, but look now we’re all loose removing it, but I I think it’s kind of this is getting in the way, but I think if we just uncp this there’s a Sensor here, but honestly, yeah, maybe pop this sensor off that I’m going to leave it plugged in, but just so, I can kind of go like that.
I think now I’ll be able to just pull it straight forward and out of here. Okay, what I had to do to get it out was this connector here was plugged into this guy, and this was snapped into the side and this is it wasn’t giving enough space. So I had to disconnect this and pop this out. So here’s the EGR cooler – these are where the bolts are so there’s one two three there’s one in the middle here and there’s one two three up there. So a total of seven bolts hold it in okay, so inspect all these kind of fuel, injector, connectors and return lines make sure we didn’t damage anything they’re.
All looking pretty good when you pop this off, it’s still going to leak some residual coolant down and it’s going to be on the floor. So that’s totally normal. I put this thing back on. I plug this guy in plug that guy back in plugged him in. I put this coolant line on uh and yeah.
Just make sure the sensor are all good. We are going to put the blocker plate on right here now so grab this blocker plate. It’S got uh three bolts, we’re going to use new bolts with it make sure these O-rings are still in good shape, they’re, not ripped and that they’re in place. So really, I think the only thing left to do is there’s this vacuum line. Some kits.
I’Ve seen have came with like kind of a plug for it. I don’t see anything with this kit, but honestly, if we just bend it like that and then put a zip tie on it, I don’t think anything is going to get through there. So I’m just going to pinch mine off like that and that’s what mine looks like right there. So now I’m just going to take all these sensors and wires, I’m just going to kind of zip tie them up neatly – probably kind of over here to this wiring harness I’ll. Let you know at the end here we go.
I got her all neatly tied up about as best as I can. So that’s pretty much it. Let’S go check out the kit, so we never used this hose. We never used this fitting. There’S some bolts here.
This is actually a bracket. I think for the exhaust back pressure sensor, so I think this is supposed to help mount this thing again, but honestly, it’s so sturdy. I’Ve never put one on before. I don’t think it’s important, so I put this air intake piece back in I hooked up this hose and I slid this clamp down a little bit or this little kind of Christmas tree down. So this is all secure, so that should be pretty much it.
I think now we can add the coolant all right. So I got this topped up and I got the other coolant reservoir. It’S overflow right now, but we haven’t even used all the coolant we haven’t put it back in yet so you’re going to have to run the truck check it for leaks and you’re, probably going to have to drive it for a bit and then the low coolant Light’S going to come on and you’re going to have to top these up, you might have to top them up a couple times. You just got to get all that air out of the system. As you drive it Moment of Truth, oh yeah, nice.
So, look over the truck make sure you got no fresh leaks, take it for a drive and then top up the coolant as it goes down. So that should be it for the video. I will be doing a review on this kit. I’Ll put a link up here and in the description to that video when it’s uploaded, if you got questions shoot me, a message on Instagram at dark iron, diesel I’ll do my best to help you out and reply when I can and if the video helped you Out, please consider supporting the channel go to dark IR diesel.com check out the merch I’d love to see you guys, repping it but anyways guys.
Thanks for watching we’ll see you on the next video I can’t take. No, I don’t know what it hit the ground go off, hit the ground go off. Yeah
