Hi there. Well, tickets, the bestselling vehicle in North America, and for very good reason, the 2025 Ford F-150. Today we’ll be testing out what it’s like to live with the Ford F-150 in the middle of the pack Lariat trim. We’ll be taking it on a little road trip, testing out the tech, features, and practicality, and what it’s like to drive North America’s favorite truck. Let’s dive right in.
All right. In the F-150, you now get three engine choices. You no longer get the 2.7 L as the base model engine. Right now, we have the 3.
5 L EcoBoost engine, which makes 400 horsepower and 510 lb feet of torque. And this engine is rated to tow 13,500 lb. You can also get the hybrid engine, which is a little extra money. You get 430 horsepower and 570 lb feet of torque, and that toes 11,200 lb. And you can also get that Coyote V8 engine, which makes 400 horsepower and 410 lbft of torque and rated to tow,00 lb.
My pick is the hybrid engine if I were to buy one of these truck. But right now we are in the non-hybrid and it’s still very very fast. We are on quite a bit of a a twisty road here. And yeah, this thing handles well and it has quite a bit of power. There is plenty of power on demand.
So you’re not really waiting all that long to get that response from the engine. Oh my god, you hear that blowoff, too. pretty good truck. Sounds pretty good. And you do get your drive mode selector right here.
You have a ton of different drive modes. You have your normal mode, your slippery mode, your toe mode, uh your eco mode, your sport mode, and your off-road mode, and your rock crawl mode, which is nice to have. I like the graphics that are displayed on the screen here. We’re just going to come to a complete stop right here in sport mode. Little bit of brake boost, and launch it.
Okay, everything went flying in the back. And that’s 60 mph. That’s 5.3 seconds to 60. It is quite fast for a truck this size.
And it’s rather loud. I actually like how it sounds. You of course got your two high, your four high, your four low, and you got your four auto in this truck. Right now, it is in four auto. And pretty tight bend.
Handles really well. I think out of all the major truck brands and the F-150 is hands down the best handling truck. It definitely isn’t as comfy as the Ram because that truck is a little bit more boaty. So, you lose that handling. The Tundra ride is actually pretty stiff what it is, but for some reason, it still doesn’t handle like this F-150.
There’s minimal under steer for a truck unless you’re really setting it through the corner. And yeah, pretty good. stays pretty solidly planted to the ground. Now it’s getting pretty bumpy. Feels good.
Doesn’t feel too bad at all. Um, let’s put it back into normal mode here. Again, that turbo spool sounds amazing. The rear is still plenty playful, especially in too high and especially in the snow because it can get a little bit sideways if you want to. you turn off traction control, but it’s very easy to handle, of course, and it just feels very safe as a truck.
We do have the Lariat trim today, which is the middle of the pack F-150. Um, of course, there’s like the King Ranch and the Platinum version that you can go up to, or the Tremor if you want a more off-road tailored experience, or the Raptor. And then you can also go down to the XL or the STX or the XLT. But the Larit is exactly how I would get the iPhone 50 because right in the middle it has everything you need. It comes standard with these beautiful 20-in wheels.
And you do get your remote engine start and your remote tailgate release. And then you also get these adaptive LED headlights up front. They look great. And you also get your wireless charging as standard and a bunch of other features. This truck here is also equipped with a 502A package.
It’s about $5,000 in the US or 4K in Canada, which is a little bit cheaper. That means you get the upgraded 14 speaker Bang and Olivesson with a subwoofer. They’re great speakers. I actually really like them. You also get a heads-up display which displays everything you need here.
It’s actually very detailed. It will show you the temperature there, the time, and your turn signals also appear in the heads-up display so you can never forget turning them off. And part of the 502A package means you get heated rear seats in the back and you get a mobile office. This truck here is also equipped with the FX4 package for 1,100 bucks and that means that you can do some mild off-roading uh because of hill descent control. You also get your monot tube shocks in the back.
You also get your rock crawl mode skid plates for the fuel tank transfer case and the front differential. So, it’s well protected for some pretty good off-roading even for a non tremor or Raptor. There’s your rear cross traffic alert just backing out this driveway. This vehicle is also equipped with a ton of safety features as standard. Of course, you get your forward collision warning.
You got your blind spot monitors. And I will say it is a little bit hard to see your blind spot on your left side because of this massive pillar. But you do get your blind spot uh monitor and you can also leave the camera running to show your blind spots at all times. So that’s pretty good solution, I guess. Um, if you get the towing mirrors, then of course you get the massive mirrors, so you can’t miss a thing.
On the open road or in traffic, you do get your Ford Blue Cruise, which is a $2,100 option or $2,700 Canadian in Canada. It’s a three-year subscription, which means it costs about $700 a year.
Basically, have pretty much fully autonomous driving on the freeway. It covers 97% of uh interstates and freeways across Canada and the US. It does a tremendously good job of just driving itself.Uh you really don’t have to worry about controlling the truck at all. The only gripe I have about Blue Cruise, I guess, is the fact that you can’t use it while you’re towing anything, which is different from the Super Cruise from GM because you can use it in conjunction with towing a vehicle or anything in the back.
But with this, you can’t tow anything at all. You get really good lane change assist. All you have to do is tap the signal and it will check for you to make sure that everything’s safe and move right over.
And there’s also in lane repositioning which helps provide more space. If there’s a vehicle getting close to you in their lane, this vehicle will kind of shift over to the other side if it’s more clear. Um, so that it just leaves a little bit more gap. I actually really do like that. In terms of fuel economy, you get a rated 19 m per gallon on this non-hybrid EcoBoost engine. You get 16 mp per gallon in the city and 24 mp gallon on the highway, which is actually the same 24 m per gallon as the 3.5 L hybrid engine. Uh although that engine does do 23 m per gallon in the city, which brings your average to 23 m per gallon, which is really impressive for a truck this size with this much power. The gas tank on this vehicle is also about 36 gallons, so you get well over 500 miles, maybe 600 miles sometimes. uh on one tank.
All right, we are on a bit of a dirt road here and we can put the vehicle in off-road mode. You get really cool graphics here which displays everything you need. You can also lock the differential, which it is locked right now. And then you also get your off-road graphics up top there as well. That is actually really sick.
Does a pretty good job. Uh if you want a more serious off-roader, uh I would definitely look into the Tremor, which comes with pretty much everything. the scenario it has, except it’s a little more off-road focused. I lied. It’s a lot more off-road focus.
There’s a ton of features in that truck that will let it tackle quite a bit of things. But this Lariat trim is more than enough capabilities for 99% of buyers. All right, I’m getting a little bit hungry, so we’re going to go through McDonald’s drive-thru. It is a bit tight here, so we do have a great 360 camera here, and you can view the curves.Hi there.
our wallet to order. Here you go. All right. Appreciate it. Have a great day.
No problem. You too. All right. Now that we have our food, we can fold down the shifter there. Open up this mobile office, which is great for working, but it’s also great for eating.
All right. And after a good meal, you can use these Max recline seats. It’s a $360 option and take a nap. And you also have the $1,700 sunroof that you can stargaze out of. So, this is a great truck for everything.
You can basically live in here. Good night. While real life me takes a nap, voice over me will continue to the exterior. This color is Oxford white, and usually I’m not a big fan of white colors on big vehicles, but it works really well with this black appearance package, which you can get for $1,200.
That comes with 20-in gloss black wheels, black exterior badging, a black tailgate bezel, and you get black running boards.
You also get bodycoled bumpers, front and rear, and bodycoled door handles. I love these new headlights. They’re also autoleing, so it’s cool to see that on an F-150. Now, it’s getting really luxurious as a vehicle. This is like high-end stuff that you typically find in luxury German cars or something from Lexus and Lincoln.
Honestly, it’s a great looking truck. All right, I think it’s time to wake up the real me. That was a good nap. All right, let me show you guys the truck bed.
This is a 5 1/2 ft configuration here.
And you get a fully powered truck bed, which goes up and down powered. And this has a pro access tailgate. You do get your workbench here. Uh you have a phone holder, your measuring tape here, and then you can also open a beer bottle on the side here as well. It’s perfect for tailgating.
This whole truck bed is actually perfect for tailgating cuz you do get your lights inside and you get a 120 volt outlet. This has a 2.4 4 kW outlet, but you can get the 7.21 uh as an option. And of course, this does go back up automatically as well.
And then you can also open the tail gate here as well, which is pretty cool.
But when you do get the tailgate configuration, you don’t have a step here uh that you normally get in the regular truck bed. All right, hopping inside the front row of the F-150. It is actually pretty nice and premium. The door thumb is actually really good.
Uh, feels nice. Everything looks pretty good as well. Squeak test. Not bad at all. Actually is pretty good.
You get a good mix of tech and functionality. I like how you still get a lot of physical buttons, especially your climate control and your volume control here. And your drive mode is still on physical, which a lot of cars are moving away from now. You get your 12in display here. It is running on Sync 4.
pretty clean, good, easy system to use. You do get your wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which you can stretch or you can leave it uh as like half the screen. So, you have your other information displaying here. And you also get your zone lighting, which is perfect for something like camping. You can use the lights on the outside.
You can control them individually. You also get your 12-in digital dashboard here.
It is very nice and clear, and I do like the graphics a lot. Uh nothing really to complain about there. And you do get your massive heads-up display, which again displays a lot of information up there.
You get your wireless charging here. You get a USBC port there and a USBA port. And you also get two more USBC ports in here as well. It’s a very deep console. And you do get this tray here which you can um put your coins in as well.
And I like how the cup holders are positioned here. It’s not in the way of the shifter. You get a slot here if you want to put your phone. And again, the shifter does go down. And you do get this workbench.
as well. These seats overall are very comfy. They’re nice and wide. Um, not that bolstered, but it is perfect for a truck like this. It’s great for road tripping and long drives.
You do get your three uh memory seating positions here, which is nice. And you get a power steering wheel and uh power adjustable pedals as well. Um, door handles again are on the side here. You do get your Bang Olson 14 speaker system. They sound absolutely amazing in here.
And you of course get that panoramic sunroof which we talked about earlier. There’s also your physical Ford key. It’s pretty much the same key. Ignore the tag here as every single Ford out there now with your remote start here. And you also get a digital app which you can remote start unlock and lock the car from as well.
All right, checking out the rear of the F-150. Lots of space. Pretty easy to get in. Oh, before I get in, you can actually fold these seats up and you have plenty of space. So, you can use this partitioned um uh storage unit here and then you can lock in and put more things back here.
But you get your power inverter there as well. And you can still fit quite a bit of things back here. You pull the lever and then you can fold the seat down. It is a truck, so you get a lot of space, lots of leg room. You can fit three people back here pretty comfortably.
Headroom is really good, too. You got heated seats in this 502A package. And you do get your 120 volt outlet here as well as one in the front and one on the truck bed. And you get two more USBC ports back here. And you get vents here and your grab bar.
Not onetouch up down windows in the back, but that’s all right. You get a cup holder here. Lots of space back here. Great for a road trip. All right.
Pricing for this truck. This vehicle as equipped is $79,000 USD or 93 grand in Canada, which is quite a bit of money for a truck nowadays.
It’s a very premium feel in here. It kind of feels like a luxury car almost, but it’s just as practical as it’s always been. The F-150 has evolved into a very versatile multi-tool of a vehicle.
It’s as comfortable in work clothes as it is in a suit. You can literally just take this anywhere and it will pretty much blend right in as long as you’re living in North America.
It’s a great road trip truck. It’s great to drive. It’s practical.
It has plenty of tech and it gets a lot of comfort features that no one really thinks about except the engineers at Ford because they literally gave this truck everything. It’s no secret why the F-150 is and will continue to be the bestselling vehicle in North America. If I had about 80 grand to spend on a truck, I’d definitely get this or the Tundra TRD Pro because I like both very much. It’s kind of hard to pick for me. I’d still recommend checking that out.
It is a great truck. But I absolutely love this F-150. That is all, guys. Thanks for watching..
