https://minimaxxtuner.comI started my article with a 2018 Ram 2500 and I decided to step up to a 2019 Ram when they did their refresh redesign 4 and 1/2 gen fifth gen. Whatever you want to call it, it just depends on what you want to call it. I don’t know what they call it, but I got the 2019 RAM and I remember people asking me: did I think they’re going to be doing a complete redesign like on the cabs in the beds within the next 2 years. I didn’t know how to answer that. Question now, if I did answer it, I would have said maybe by 2023 they would have done something, but that just didn’t happen here.
 
 
 
We are 2024 there’s supposed to be some updates on the Ram trucks. However, it’s being said that they’re well, let me just read it to you real, quick hold on on here’s an article from mopart insiders by Robert S Miller. It goes on to say, although Ram is just gearing up to launch its up updated, half tons, the focus will now move to the Brand’s heavy duty. Offerings Ram has struggled to sell 2500 and 3500 heavy duty pickup trucks with the two trucks making the top 10 worst selling Vehicles. Last month there was an article with car Edge.

Looking at how many days of supply of RAM 2500 and 3500, I believe that the Ram 3500 came in sixth place and the 2500 came in eighth place for the amount of days in Supply. So, in other words, I understand the 2500s because because they don’t have as much payload and people are starting to really take it into their consideration when they’re buying these trucks. But let’s continue to read the article. I just wanted to make that point really quickly. It was just talking about the day supply of these trucks right now currently on the ground.
 
 
 
Now most of the trucks here at Larry H, Miller are 2024. I think they may have. Maybe a few 2023 is but nine time out of 10. I think everything here right now is 2024 by the way this du beautiful is available. But let’s keep reading the article Ram will introduced an updated version of its Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups later this year, while the 2025 heavy duty pickups won’t be completely new from the ground up. It is expected that Ram will give the trucks an update, not just in the looks department but also in what’s under the hood. I am not shocked that Ram is going to be doing some updates with the powertrains. The Hemi, even though, is a really good engine. It’S definitely outdated compared to the other two.
 
 
 
I do like the ZF transmission behind the Hemi as well. The 8speed is phenomenal. I love it shifts strong, fast, smooth, great transmission. The diesel side of the house cumins still uses that inline 6 love the way. This truck feels, especially when you’re towing great power delivery.

It’S not as fast as the v8’s, it’s nice and steady right and of, of course, the exhaust breake. We don’t have to go down that road. You know what I’m going to say phenomenal with. That being said, they are outgunned by the l5p Gen 2 durmax and, of course, the high output power stroke and the standard output Power Stroke have, I would say, better performance if you are Towing heavy and up steep grades and of course, the transmission issues are a Factor as well now I don’t care what anyone says in this article you’re going to read it, I’m going to read it to you guys in a second everyone talks about the 68r as if it’s a terrible transmission, I think a lot of people get that transmission. Mistaken with a previous transmission that Ram had, that is not the case.
 
 
 
I’Ve met so many guys running 2500 cumins Ram trucks, okay and all of them said the exact same thing to me. If you don’t mess with the performance of the truck you’re good, if you start adding a stage two and stage three tune on the truck – and you start running 35 37s yeah sure you’re going to have issues with the 68 R Fe, as well as any truck Out there, when you start adding bigger, tires and changing and Ultra the truck, but I’ve met guys with 4 and 500,000 miles on the 68 R Fe. You can go back and watch a video I did early on on my channel. I think it’s like probably the third or fourth video I ever did met a hot shot guy and he said the exact same thing. He was on his second or third truck and he told me no problems with the 68 R Fe and they run those trucks.

So they can run at that 10,000lb gross field. Quate rating, the Eisen transmission – is probably the best Transmission in the HD segment Towing. I want to put that in there Towing because unloaded it’s hard to live with. I will admit too. My Ram unloaded was not fun to drive.
 
 
 
It was very, very harsh for sure, but nevertheless that’s why you buy these trucks they’re going to operate like a big heavy pickup truck right. So I think that they should keep the eyes and around especially for cabin chassis trucks like this I mean I think, most guys running these trucks. Don’T really care to have you know more gears. I think they should maybe do a seven speed or something like that. I compared it to my wife’s Lexus LX 600. Let’S keep reading the article. Here’S the bad news: the 2025 heavy duty models should get new front styling should including a new grill headlamp and front bumper design. We expect everything from the a pillar back to be a carryover new tailight design should mimic the updated half tons. We would be surprised if Ram adds a full power raise and lower tailgate, which is pretty much available on the GM and Ford.
 
 
 
Pickups Ram will also more than likely add onboard power, so 2,000 Watts, which is available now on the half tons for 2025 and that’s been available for the Ford Superduty inside. We expect much of the Interior Design to stay the same. We still believe that the truck will not have a panoramic sunroof due to it still using the Aging forth, gen cab design. We can expect that the new 14 and2 inch touchscreen will also join the upper Scale Models, as well as the same material changes. Seen on The Ram 1500 for the various Trims and a new tungsten model, with Ultra Premium Creature, Comforts like heated and ventilated, premium, Quil to Natural plus leather driver and front passenger seats with 24-way power, that is a mouthful including memory settings and a massage function.

Power lumbar support and four-way powered headrest. Also don’t forget that 10 and 1/4 in passenger screen should be available on the higher models under the hood. We expect much of the same. The 6.4 L Hemi big gas engine should return with some updates to keep the Hem aligned with stricter emission regulations.
 
 
 
Power should be the same, but the RAM heavy duty pickups will ensure that the Hemi Legacy does continue. The 6.7 L cumins inline 6 turbo diesel should return as well. The best news according to our sources, is that Ram will end production of the questionable 68 R Fe automatic transmission. Instead ZF will be supplying its Powerline transmission as a replacement.

We discussed this back in 2020 and since the HP power line automatic has become a staple in some medium duty trucks. It should be a welcome addition to the ram heavy duty. Lineup expect the entire lineup to return, including the popular Rebel model. We also mentioned the tungsten, so that should be a welcome addition to the lineup to take on luxurious GMC. Denali models Ram should introduce these new models later this year with production kicking off sometime late in the fourth quarter of 2024 at the Saltillo truck assembly plant.
 
 
 
In Mexico, I will admit that Ram’s Interiors are still definitely up there with Ford and GM GM just refreshed St for 2024 Ford did a complete redesign and I still think Ram is definitely neck and neck. If not a little bit better and adding the tungsten is a really good idea, because that it will be the Ultra Luxury HD truck, but I don’t think no one cares about this stuff. I think what people want is a bigger cab. That really shocked me. I hope that that guy is wrong.

That was uh mopart insiders. I hope they’re wrong if they don’t do a new cab for 202 5. At the very least, add the/ ton cabs at the very least, keep the mega cab and you will be okay. This cab is too small. It has this big hump in the center here.
 
 
 
This is not a good cab. They’Ve been running these since 2009 2010 and it’s just too small and you can feel it when you’re driving one of these and then, when you jump into a GMC or Ford, you can clearly tell just how small and compact this cab is. Even if you jump into a/ tonon fifth gen is so much bigger. I don’t care about the power on board. I just want them to do the right thing, bigger beds and a bigger cab, and it looks like they’re not going to do that.

They’Re going to add the larger screens and all that good stuff and that’s cool, I’m sure some guys are going to like those updates, but if you’re having a tough time selling your trucks right now, what do you think is going to happen if you carry over These tiny cabs, you might win back some Ram guys, but you won’t win back the majority and I think that having the 8-speed ZF join, the family of the Diesels is a good idea, but maybe just for the standard output and hopefully they’ll, do something different with The uh high output, as I said in the past cumin, don’t need 10 gears like the V8s. Do they don’t RPM, like those engines do so my opinion from when I was Towing. I only needed like one extra gear, so a seven or eight speed is probably more than enough. But what do you guys’ thoughts? I’M done, rambling.
 
 
 
I just feel as though Ram is kind of shooting themselves in the foot. I just think they are um. These calves are too small. These beds are outdated, they’re, not as tall as the other two are, and even like the standard size beds for the you know single rear wheels. They just need to get up to like a 7ot bed in that ballpark.

So there’s a lot of work that needs to be done. They need to have an optional uh payload increase on the 3/4 ton, diesels, there’s just so much that needs to be done and hearing that they’re only going to do another light Refresh on this truck. It just doesn’t seem plausible. I think a lot of people were expecting from 2019 there to be a complete redesign within 3 years, because that was a refresh. It was like the 4 and a half gen truck, as I said earlier in this video.
 
 
 
That’S what people were calling this: the 4 and 1 half gen, and here we are in 2025, and we’re potentially going to have the same Cals and same bed designs as previous all they’re going to give us is Pro Power and the bed up to 2,000 Watts. New tail lights, new bumpers, new front fascia, which they’ve already done and maybe a slightly different interior. Let me know your thoughts. Are you happy with that? Are you okay, with potentially paying more money for this truck and they have the same calves and beds?
