MiniMaxx V1&V2 tuner Wholesale & Dropshipping GO
The frame is bad tough decision. My friend the shake hand looks like that handshake right. There was a he’s not doing it. What is up guys, I hope everyone’s having a great day, so today, Dakota found another truck. It’S a few hours from our location, we’re gon na go ahead and head up there, the truck that we’re looking at actually just arrived here to Michigan from California.
If I’m not mistaken, so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity for you guys to see what I look for when buying a used Duramax. I hope you guys find this video helpful. I hope Kokoda buys this truck because we have been searching the globe for a rust-free clean Duramax at a decent price without further ado. Let’S go ahead and get right into the video stay tuned. We’Re here.
Oh you spotted already. Alright, we’ll check it out. Maybe this one guys it is very clean, I must say, hey Dakota. This looks a lot better than the other one. We looked at so guys.
What you’re seeing is a little surface rust, but that’s not that big of a deal, the other one was really bad. So this one right here came from California, first thing that I’m gon na do I’m gon na grab this this hose right here and I’m just gon na squish it. So it’s clearly relieving pressure. So it’s fine all right, there’s not a bunch of excess pressure built up in the cooling system here. A thing that I like to check as well.
Is this cool bottle right here, sometimes especially when these go through the auctions? People will drill tiny pin holes in these right here and the reason why they do. That is because it does have a blown head, gasket and they’re just trying to sell it. So nobody will check, you know, nobody will know, so some people will do dirty so just kind of inspect make sure there’s no holes in these cone bottles seriously because you’re at a dealership guys they buy these things online. You know what I mean, so you just you just never know so we’re gon na kind of go ahead and alright.
So there’s no pressure so we’re good there, no holes on the tank, we’ll look at it again visually inspecting. It looks like it’s got. A brand new field filter, just by looking at it looks it looks fairly new. As a matter of fact, it looks like it has a brand new fuel filter head. This whole head right here looks, looks like it was just replaced, clearly no block off plate on the up pipe going to the EGR cooler. So that’s looking good there before I check for blow-by before it’s running. I do want to just look underneath the oil cap. You know just make sure, there’s no chocolate milk, I like to say underneath there, which it all looks: good kyoya, l, — the engine with. Obviously, the trucks been sitting all day so looks like it’s gon na need a new engine, oil dipstick, no big deal, go and wipe that off this is I’m a dude. You know.
Oh it’s full! You want you to change yeah, it does diesel engine diesel oil. I mean, even after you get a change, it’s gon na look nasty in black anyways, especially with the EZ already still on there. However, what we’re looking for is a milky substance in the oil. You know it’s kind of like I mean it could indicate that you know coolant could’ve mixed in with the fuel or the the coolant so but everything checks out everything looks good.
Like I said it looks like it’s got. A brand new steel filter head looks like someone replaced that EGR has not been messed with, which is great. We don’t want a truck. That’S our even mess with we want something to stock is what we’re going after belt checks up, so pause. First start up, it sounds really good, but he said he said: Nevada Las Vegas.
Did they drive it over here? It’S probably you probably had it written. Oh man, you got the 4-inch mbrp exhaust. Listen to that baby sounds really good. Looks really clean.
So far again we’re gon na. Let it warm up, I’m gon na get underneath there and freakin sucks it’s all wet on the ground. I wonder if we can pull it in. There got the tinted windows already, so you don’t have to mess with that. Tailgate looks great: did you already checked all the door trims?
Oh, look at that man ballin out of control, son whoo, look at these door jams! Unbelievable! You guys! Just don’t find this stuff! Man seriously!Look at that much better! It even has the frame sticker from one day. I assembled it at the plant. Unbelievable nice leather seats doesn’t seem like a whole lot of rips and tears. The carpet looks nice and clean, so what else is going on around here?
Little odds and end stuff. Little no Biggie’s did you find anything yet yeah, but no rough right and of course you got the Flint Michigan tag, which is pretty cool, and this is a oh six and the way you guys could tell is right: there could be Hillel. I could be an older version of our new version Oly, but easiest way to tell is addy. The eighth digit will be a D and they’ll be an lbz, so we’re gon na check that out d right there LBZ the reason why via deal-breakers, because we’re looking for an lvz, not an elawaifu Xin LOI, then it’s a fifty horsepower difference. But although those LOI o sixes are actually pretty cool and sought after as well, but we are looking specifically for an lbz – this is a genuine lbz yeah.
But oh seven will stakes going to know BD out of here? Okay, let’s not do this! That door may have been replaced over the years. So look look at the look at the cab. Yep there’s the D right there we’re good it’s an LBD you’re good, boo, squeal noises, but it is raining check for blow by look at that perfect.
So we’re good here, dude zero bulb. I like zero. Of course, the mo you know the engine codes and any sort of check engine codes. There’S no check engine light, but for all we know you know it was deleted. Very usually I just like to go to health report.
It’Ll just scan everything, some of the fault codes that are stored in here. I was actually looking at this. This is kind of interesting eg, airflow excessive. It probably had an EGR issue in the past and was serviced a good indication of what I’m actually thinking about is how bad the Y bridge looks right now, something may have been gone, gunked up in the EGR valve or may have been. One thing was disconnected and all this stuff just went haywire and just started going.
You know what I mean and that’s very possible too, but either way doesn’t seem like it’s having a problem now so not too concerned about all that now. What I am concerned about sometimes is: if I get a TCM code, anything transmission related. That’S that’s! When I start that’s, when I start really digging further deep into stuff like that would be a bad option to buy, if you guys are looking into buying a diesel or Duramax in particular, is injector balance rate, especially anything common-rail. So here we go that plus desired.
So I’m selecting these because I want to monitor these Reger. I want to see where they’re at. I also want to see what the desired fuel real pressure is. I don’t want to get there’s a lot of things that I can click to see, but right now, there’s just a few things that I want to check off the bat you know, like my first go: two’s just to keep it simple for everybody. So what we’re?
Looking for is injector balance rates. Essentially, everything should be ideal at a zero value. Okay at a zero. So if you are anything within the 0 to plus 4 to negative 4, if you think outside of that spectrum, that means the injectors maybe may need to be replaced or need. Some attention is when I’m getting in first off.
What I see is cylinder. 1. 2. 3 & 4. Look at that guy’s dream: injector balance rates, all monitoring zeros!
That’S amazing! Ok! So that’s what you’re looking for unbelievable zeros! I don’t even see this. This is great, so this is negative: zero that zero doesn’t really matter it’s giving it plus or minus.
What it needs per cylinder on each injector to fire it to where you know it needs to be. That’S! What’S going on your gustar gentlemen, the ability did a piddly stuff that really does not matter what we’re looking for is drivability we’re looking for you know the mode of the way it sounds all the little piddly stuff like it’s missing, a piece of the trim in The door you know the headliner needs some attention stuff like that, and that’s that’s not a big deal. We just want to make sure that we’re doing our biggest bang for a buck. Look at that comments focus.
Oh man, dude skip the nonsense. No all right! That’S what we’re gon na get the dump truck. Let’S go we’re gon na, take it on a test drive and then once we’re done with the test drive, I’m gon na check in injector bounce rates, one more times you know, make sure everything’s kosher and then we’ll leave the electric car talk to it. On a cell phone, I can move it.You guys wan na see me. Yes, I do go into summon mode all right. So now, when I push forward it’s gon na move forward, I push forward. It’S blinking lights arrived, oh boy, your cars moving dude and I stopped it’s moving without you driving it, but you’re driving it with yourself all my fault. So now, if I do the come to me, part it’ll actually drive over here back and do that you know.
Will he’ll be for a later video? Oh, what I’m gon na do right now we’re gon na take it on a test drive one thing that I did in the dealership. When I worked at the GM dealership, we used cars came in the inspection form on what to look for, but also another good rule of thumb when you’re looking for a vehicle is basically sit in the driver’s seat and anything that you can touch guys. I’M talking, you know, make sure that all the controls work make sure that the well that doesn’t work, the tamir, that this is electric doors. This is an LT 3 but looks like that works.
Just get me the mirror. Yeah I’d be the switch yeah boots idle parts. Probably you know just make sure everything works. You know. Ok that works.
That works. I want to get too crazy of the buttons we already checked. All this stuff off camera grab the seat belts, make sure the seat belts are all intact. You know everything man touch, it make sure it opens mess with the radio turn the radio on check the vents turn all that stuff on. Of course, you want to engage the four-wheel-drive, make sure that sometimes you can hear it all.
So what you want to do, if you’re, looking at a truck like this, put it in neutral and then push the four low you felt the kicking okay, I got the heater on so it’s kind of hard to tell and then swallow it’s a neutral. Go ahead. Push it back there, it is right there kicked in a bit put it park and then go back to we’ll go ahead and on the test drive well, do some turns left and right. We feel our binding a little bit just to make sure that four-wheel drive is engaging. That’S a huge selling point.
I would probably have to deduct some money off of this truck when buying it. If the formal drive was not actually so we’re on the test. Drive right now, what I’m doing we’ve been driving around for about five minutes now and so far, so good, okay, one thing I do want to point out, though we’re gon na get underneath the truck. You know one look at it, but one thing I want to point during the test: drive get on it a little bit. Okay, don’t don’t go all in with it, but get on it, because what you’re listening for, especially with all 4 point, 5 2 2010, especially, is boo.Sleet, definitely something you want to look for guys. The reason why I say boost leaks is because, from o4 to 2010, the ella y 2l VCS, as well as the LMS by bridge, which is actually in the valley right in front of the turbo guys right there. The white bridge is a two-part system. Okay. So it’s held the up inlets connected to that wide bridge.
There’S two o-rings those o-rings can possibly blow and then cause you cause boost leak. You see where I’m getting at so it’s important that you guys get on it and listen for hissing noises coming from underneath. That’S the best way to explain that’s what you’re listening for could be a lot of things, but just you know, turn the radio off and listen, listen to that motor when you’re driving and so far she sounds beautiful. So I’m not sure if the audio is picking that up but you’re hearing a metallic clicking noise, a little dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig diggity, very common guys, don’t be alarmed if you guys hear that it’s a very common noise. It’S a it’s!
A little ticking noise there’s actually a service Bolton a few years back to talked about that right. There, customers were bringing their truck in and complained about that ticking noise, but it’s very faint and is not nothing to worry about. Looking at the leaf springs, everything looks pretty good, attacking an order kind of hard to tell with the rotors you’re driving and saying don’t put your fingers in there, but not too sure the brake pads. If you kind of hard to really detect that, because it’s hard to see really that’s something else, you guys didn’t want to look at, is the the brake pads the depth between their two they’re, the rule foam on this one guys is three millimeter three millimeter or More is okay, so you want to be at least the five or seven mark for it to be good. We’Re gon na go ahead and four-wheel drive boost launch this bad boy.
Just plain all right, I got a four-wheel drive turning. We can really feel it binding, making me repair like hard yeah. It should be yep so for drive, works. Put that back into and then, as a matter of fact, I’m gon na and put it back in for driving. I’M gon na go ahead and give her the berries a little bit but off she’s tight yeah.
That’S this is a stock LBZ feeling good. You know Dakota, you don’t buy this Duramax, I’m buying the Duramax yeah we’ve been, we’ve been looking at trucks, I’m lying all over the all over the country. So far I think Mia found the diamond in the rough. I know you guys saw some brought some surface rust, not fully done yet but smell it as well. Oh crap yeah!
When I got on it like that, I mean I’m not gon na. We got look at the exhaust and we rev it up. Let’S do a Lemire shot wind it out black he’s already doing its job all right, so we have a little bit of black smoke coming out of there. So now we have him in the driver’s seat doing some more driving around, but that black smoke that you guys saw you know we got outside. We smelled the exhaust. It’S not oil, I’m gon na tell you guys right now, that’s just because whoever owned this thing was probably a grandpa and didn’t give her the berries. What I’m saying guys is it’s very well possibly could be that the EGR is plugged up signs initially when we plugged the scan tool and it was showing store codes of EGR insufficient flow stuff like that, so not a deal breaker. You know I mean especially if we plan on doing some off-road use only stuff with this thing, not a deal-breaker. All right, as you guys, can see, we’re driving around values have changed just a little bit, but nothing to beacon to concerned about again guys are looking for negative for or plus for anything outside of that spectrum is obviously needs attention or just isn’t good. You know it mean you do new injectors, but in our case we are golden man.
We are good. Oh, we got a right here on number six, it’s bad, I’m just like. No we’re good guys everything! Everything checks out! All right!
That’S why we wanted to drive it around, get it warm, let’s sit for a while in idle check it again. Just you know, make sure everything is kosher. Everything is where it needs to be beautiful, beautiful, so yeah under net. The only biggest concern right now is the EGR, the insufficient flow, the basic basically, the black smoke coming out of that just plugged up EGR man. You can snot coming around the exhaust, which is kind of a good thing in a way because, like you and I spoke grandpa’s truck yeah, I wasn’t beat up alright, so I’m gon na get under there check the transfer case, make sure there’s no pinhole leaks check.
The transmission make sure there’s no leaks under there visually inspect. What I can, since we don’t have it under the hoist, which sucks put my hands on everything driveshafts. You know just just wiggle everything make sure, there’s no play whatsoever and anything before we take out on this long road trip. Alright. Now that we’re onto the truck I want to take off attention is transfer case.
It looks like there’s a little teepee coming between the transportation and transmission. You have to be there right there. The pump is actually right right around here, where you want to pay close attention, so I’m going to visually inspect air and now I’ll get back with you guys. Let your steering gearbox right there and then that’s your front desk. I mean kind of hard to tell where the leaks coming from we’re going to get it up off the ground, but we overall Casey you’re late um.
You can also kind of visually inspect right here. Just you know looking at boots and lower ball joints upper, but all four ball joints. Here’S your tight rod right here right now. All we can really do guys is just visually inspect, unfortunately, but all that stuff is gon na get replaced eventually, but I mean look at that right there. This thing definitely needs an alignment something’s going on in the front end, but it doesn’t.
It feels nice and stiff when you drive it, but it does look a little off. Look like it’s seeping from the front dip, though there’s something going on over here. But overall I mean the transmission, the engine, oil, pan, everything everything checks out. It looks good other than trying to look past the all the tripping from the snow, but everything is looking good from my inspection. I think it’s worth the money, we’re picking this thing apart to that, actually we’re being a little tune it, but yes, all right man.
Let’S wrap her up and let’s get home, alright, so they’re. Yours man, awesome appreciate your time. Thanks for uh me being annoying with my camera. Air-Crane berg, but you’re with your business name and what’s video ends are I’m Berg’s car company whiskey can Michigan can go to Rhine, Bert’s, car company, calm, awesome and find out inventory on there perfect, and I see you sell a lot of diesel trucks and such so. Maybe auto back here soon, not a Western rusty trucks.
Yeah this one’s from California, California, I’m gon na. Take your dermaxyl going home picture about see you later. Thank you. So I do appreciate you guys, sticking around till the end of the video. Thank you so much for that.
Do you appreciate all the support, if you guys find this video helpful when buying a used Duramax we’re really pumped about this purchase, we’re gon na go ahead and get this build on the channel as well. I hope you guys stay tuned for the very next video, because mrs
Truck master and I are gon na – go ahead and get this frame taken care of so other than that. I do appreciate your time. As always we’ll see you on the next video take care, you
